Hi, this is Joannie.

 

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. I attended school here until I was 17 then I studied abroad in North America. I graduated from college with a degree in Applied Mathematics. Since then I had been working in schools teaching math in Hong Kong.

Growing up in an exam-oriented education system, I was not fond of working in schools to begin with although I thrived in the system as a student. While disagreeing with the system, I started teaching with a heart to help students learn authentically so that they can truly acquire knowledge and skills and handle assessments and learn now things with confidence.

​

And time flies, I had been bearing the role for more than 10 years now. I have to proudly say that I am holding onto my stance about teaching & learning without wavering. With more classroom experience accumulated, I continue to ask questions and learn to equip myself as a teacher who can provide a better education experience to my students so that they will know how to learn for themselves.
